Jorge Tabarés and his “Tribute to Alicia” Arrive to KNS Classical

We are very proud to announce the launch of the “Tribute to Alicia”‘s CD, performed by promising Spanish pianist Jorge Tabarés, who wants to honour the memory of internationally recognised pianist Alicia de Larrocha.
The CD includes works by Spanish composers, sucs as Antonio Soler, Oscar Esplà and renowned Federico Mompou and some of Larrocha’s “Pecados de Juventud” (Sins of Youth), the pieces she composed when she was 14 or 19 year old.
The project begun as a radio broadcast on WQXR in New York City. Her daughter, Alicia Torra de Larrocha, and the former music critic of The New York Times, Robert Sherman, were organizing a tribute to De Larrocha to be broadcasted on May 2019.Jorge Tabarés had the honour and good fortune of being selected as an invited artist in WQXR where he performed an entire program of Spanish music that included works by Soler, Esplá, Mompou and De Larrocha, the same program that now is in this CD.
